Dr Ainslie Murray

Ainslie Murray attended St Aloysius College from 1988-1992 and was a very active member of sporting teams throughout her school years.

After graduating from SAC, Ainslie trained in Architecture at the University of Adelaide (B.Arch.St., B.Arch (Hons)), and worked as an architect in London. On returning to Sydney, she worked as an architect, exhibition designer and design studio tutor. In 2004, she commenced work as a tenured academic at the University of NSW, teaching in Architecture. Ainslie completed a PhD (Visual Arts) at the University of Sydney in 2011. From 2008 – 2013, she lived in Munich, Germany.

Returning to Australia in 2013 and to UNSW, she is currently a lecturer in the Faculty of the Built Environment. Her research focus is practice-led art and architecture. Her work has been exhibited throughout Australia and internationally in Canada, China, Denmark, Japan and the UK.
